Tithivaar (Android app app.tithivaar) by Ritesh Rana · Effective 5 October 2026
In short: there is no account and no sign-in, and the app sends nothing about you to us. Your settings, reminders and saved items stay on your phone. The app shows Google AdMob ads, and Google may process a device advertising identifier for them.

Stored on your phone

Your city (name, latitude, longitude, time zone), language, calendar tradition, theme, saved items, reminders, personal events, checklist progress and japa counts. Mantra audio is bundled with the app and plays offline. They stay in the app's private storage and are deleted when you uninstall the app or use Settings → Reset app data. We never receive them.

Location

Used only to calculate Panchang timings. The app asks for approximate location only when you tap “Use device location”, uses it once on the phone to pick the nearest city, and does not store or send your coordinates. You can always choose a city from the list instead.

Notifications

If you allow them, festival, vrat and daily Panchang reminders are scheduled on your phone. Nothing is sent to a server to deliver them.

Updates

About twice a day, while the app is open, it downloads a small public file of calendar data (festival dates, holiday lists and verses) from this website. The app checks the file's signature before using it. The app also asks Google Play whether a newer version exists, and if you tap Update it opens the Play Store. These requests contain no information about you. As with any download, the web host (GitHub) and Google can see your IP address.

Advertising

The app is supported by ads from Google AdMob, clearly labelled “Ad”. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process the device advertising identifier, IP address, approximate location derived from it, and ad interactions, to serve, measure and protect ads. Personalised ads are off unless you turn them on in Settings. Where the law requires consent (for example the EEA and UK), Google's consent form is shown first. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings.

Analytics

None. The app contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK.

Children

The app is a general-audience calendar and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
